A research team arrives in Castle Key to explore the wreck of an old smugglers' ship that sank in Pirate Cove. When Scott and Emily dive down to the wreck, Scott glimpses a long lost artefact said to hold the key to a hoard of smuggled treasure. But when the team leader goes back to recover the artefact, it has mysteriously vanished! Was Scott mistaken or is somebody else after the smugglers' loot? Follow Scott, Jack, Emily and Drift on a very mysterious treasure hunt.

I like Emily best because she comes up with the plans and suspects. I would recommend this book because it is very interesting and mysterious. Also, there is a smugglers shipwreck and Emily, Scot and Jack have to find hidden treasure in a chamber.

I like this book because Scott and Emily get to dive down to the Mermaid, the wreck of a smuggler’s ship, that sank in Pirate Cove. It was also funny when Scott saw a basking shark and thought it would eat him! My favourite character is Scott because he saw the compass and knew that it had eight sides. I would definitely recommend this book to someone else.

These books are pretty predictable for ages 8-12 (approx) although there are some red herrings along the way! They are filled with modern jokes and the characters’ personalities are all different and contrasting which is good. Smuggler’s Wreck is filled with legends and mystery as the friends embark on an underwater adventure!

It is a very good book because it has a mixture of humour and mystery . It is when there was a long lost ship, within the ship there was treasure ,if it fell into the wrong hands the city would be at chaos.
