The Invisible Dog
Dick King-Smith, Ann Kronheimer
The story of a girl who tries to satisfy her yearning for a dog by introducing an imaginary Great Dane called Henry to the house. Her wish comes true and she is allowed a real Henry - but there's more than a hint that old Mrs Garrow, with her cackling laugh and black cat, may have been involved.

The invisible dog is called Henry. He belongs to Janey. He came after Rupert died. At the end of the story Henry becomes real as a spotty doggy

I like how the girl thinks that the invisible dog is actually real and its not. She wanted to buy a great dane but it looks hilarious to even buy!

Janie was only two when the family dog died. She found rupert’s dog collar and pretended she was walking and caring for a real dog but it was actually an invisible dog until she saved up enough money to buy herself a real Great Dane dog.

I enjoyed this book. Janie found her old dogs the lead and the collar. She played with it acting like that she had a dog. She named the invisible dog Henry. The only people that believed in Henry where Janie and Mrs Garrow.

Henry is a great dane invisible to everyone except mrs Garrow who lives in the end cottage and Janie. Janie walks the dog on a lead she found, but all anyone can see is her walking a lead around, the can't see the dog. One day Janie asks her dad how much a harlequin great dane puppy costs and decides to save up to buy one. I liked this story because it was funny and I liked the way the 2 neighbours were the only ones who could see Henry.

It was about this pretend dog, that Janie took everywhere she went, except from school. At the end of the story they got a real dog! I would love to read more books by Dick King Smith - like The Sheep Pig.

I liked it because I really like greyhounds, they're massive. I would recommend it if you like dogs.

My favourite was Janie, I liked her character because she uses her imagination and for her birthday her parents bought her a dog. I would recommend this book to other children who like books about animals.
