From the powerhouse author/illustrator team of Iggy Peck, Architect comes Rosie Revere, Engineer, another charming, witty picture book about pursuing your passion. Rosie may seem quiet during the day, but at night she's a brilliant inventor of gizmos and gadgets who dreams of becoming a great engineer. When her Great, Great Aunt Rose (Rosie the Riveter) comes for a visit and mentions her one unfinished goal--to fly--Rosie sets to work building a contraption to make her aunt's dream come true. Her invention complete, Rosie attempts a test flight--but after a moment, the machine crashes to the ground. Discouraged, Rosie deems the invention a failure, but Aunt Rose insists that on the contrary, it was a raging success. You can only truly fail, she explains, if you quit. Reassured, Rosie returns to her engineering and inspires her classmates to join in the fun.

I have given this book 3 stars because although it is a good story, it is quite a short book.

It told me that you should never give up even if you make mistakes and you can't go through life without at least one and Rosie made lots of inventions and didn't give up on any of them and there is only one big mistake you can make and that is giving up.

Return in delightful verse and third with Sneaky histories of women in aviation, it’s perfect inspirational material for young makers. Comically detailed mixed media illustrations keep the mood light and emphasise Rosie’s creativity at every turn

Rosie Revere used to make gadgets for her uncles and aunts but when she made a cheese hat for one of her uncles, it went very wrong. She decided never to share her inventions again. But when her oldest relation came to visit, she taught Rosie the value of trying hard.

What a fantastic book to introduce the world of engineering to a young audience through story and rhyme. The illustrations are fab too. A definite recommendation for primary school children. I will be sharing it with my class!
