James Bond will grow up to become the greatest secret agent in the world, but in the summer of 1933 he is still just a schoolboy. While staying at his cousin Victor's villa in Sardinia he is drawn into a dangerous and terrifying adventure that will require all his bravery, skill and cunning to survive. I didn't enjoy this book, it is very lengthy, but I did like the plot. Maybe Charlie Higson could avoid too much detail and shorten the book by 5-7 chapters. however it was not too bad as well so I would rate it 2.

This was amazing. My favourite part was when the baddie fell in a lake full of man-eating eels and died. I love James bond

This was a very nerve-wracking book. Some pats were scary and others were mysterious. I obviously like James Bond, but I felt sorry for Algar, the bad guy's brother. If someone likes adventures stories, excitement and a little bit of violence - then this is the book for them!!

This is such an exciting book. The eels made me squirm. I haven't seen the Bond movies. But young James Bond is really adventurous. You should read them.

This book is a perfect introduction to spy writing for young children. The young Bond is convincing and the adventure is compelling!

I think this book is better than the related Alex rider series. My favourite character was James Bond because of his luck in risk-taking. I recommend this book to my friend.

Two words: amazing and awesome. I really couldn't get out of this book no matter what I did. You get to know James quite well and really know how he feels in every situation. I would definitely recommend this to hear seven or over but if you really are an experienced reader, go for it and get yourself lost in a good book.

I love books that maintain the suspense untill the very end and I enjoyed reading this one. This is because there was a twist at the end!

I think it is a good book because its not too scary but not lambs prancing through a meadow.
