Charlotte's Web
E. B. White
Charlotte's Web is the classic children's story by E B White. The tale of how a little girl named Fern, with the help of a friendly spider, saved her pig Wilbur from the usual fate of nice fat little pigs. E. B. White was born in New York in 1899 and died in 1985. He kept animals on his farm in Maine and some of these creatures crept into his books, such as STUART LITTLE which was recently made into a blockbusting film. He received many awards including the Laura Ingalls Wilder Medal in 1970, an award given every five years to authors who have 'made a substantial and lasting contribution to literature for children'. Also by E B White: Charlotte's Web; Stuart Little; The Trumpet of the Strong
Reviews
I would recommend this book to children that are fans of Mathilda and Weslandia because the stories are similar, the main character is a bit of an underdog at the beginning but come out on top by the end of the book. I listened to it while travelling this summer and the narrator used different voice for the characters. The goose and the gander sounded really funny.

This story is about farm girl Fern who with the help of a friendly talking spider called Charlotte, saves her pig, Wilbur, from the usual fate of nice fat little pigs during springtime. It is both sweet and sad at the same time. A lovely book.

That is was good because she didn't want the pig to die. That it was kind. That she really wanted a pig badly. That the mum and dad let Charlotte have the pig. That she feeds the pig and lets it drink milk. That it's really fun. That I like the girl spider.

The best character in Charlotte’s Web was Charlotte, because she was very loyal, kind, caring and helpful. I would recommend this to people over six years old.

This book is about a pig named Wilbur who lives in a farm and meets a spider named Charlotte. Wilbur was about to attend a contest, but because of Charlotte, he became famous. I recommend this book because the story is exciting and the ending is sad

I loved this book. It touched my heart. It taught me that a true friend would do anything for you. I loved that the main characters were animals but they showed such wonderful characteristics and virtues. I loved that such a small spider could have such a big impact. I found it very beautiful.
