Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Big Shot (Book 16)
Jeff Kinney
GREG HEFFLEY AND SPORTS JUST DON'T MIX. After a disastrous competition at school, Greg decides that he's officially retired from ANY kind of sport! That is, until his mom persuades him to give it one more go and makes Greg reluctantly agree to sign up for basketball. Tryouts are a MESS, and Greg is sure he won't make the cut. But he unexpectedly lands a spot on the worst team. As Greg and his new teammates start the season, their chances of winning even a single game look slim. But in sports, anything can happen. When everything is on the line and the ball is in Greg's hands, will he rise to the occasion? Or will he blow his big shot?

I just read this book and thought it was amazing. Greg and his friends keep on trying and trying at basketball until they finally win a competition. It tells you to never give up and keep on trying. I like basketball and I have gotten better since I read this book. I haven't given up but instead tried.

I liked the book because Gregg tried a new thing (basketball) and even though he wasn't very good, he persevered. I would recommend the book to my friends because it was a good lesson in perseverance and how his family cheered him on.

It was ok, but I’m not that into sport, so I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much.

This book was so fun! I liked Edward Mealy because he has FINALLY spoken although the turtle lore is a tad bit sad. I loved the concept of going to church more fun because IT’S SO BORING YOU SIT THERE FOR A HOUR AND I ALMOST FELL ASLEEP ONCE IT’S SO AGGRAVATING. I loved when they made the sport called ‘RollerBowling’ it seems so exciting! But the 3 pointer that Greg mage was something I could never do.Also BEING TRADED BY YOUR OWN MOTHER IS ACTUALLY CRAZY SHE ACTUALLY NEEDS TO THINK ABOUT WHAT SHE JUST DID
