The tiny Tindims are like the Borrowers-on-Sea, who turn our everyday rubbish into treasure. Mother-and-daughter duo, prizewinning Sally Gardner and Lydia Corry, create a fun new world of characters and adventures in their empowering new series for 5-8 year olds inspiring conservation and inventive ways to recycle. 'What is rubbish today is treasure tomorrow.' Discover Rubbish Island which the Tindims have built entirely from things we have thrown away. Captain Spoons, Mug, Jug, Brew, Skittle and friends are busy recycling when Ethel B Dina is blown out to sea and the Tindims must launch a rescue operation with the help of some friendly fish and surprises along the way. Printed in dyslexia-friendly font with pictures on every page and perfect for the reluctant reader, the Tindims show keen young ecologists how to help protect our planet for the future. My favourite characters were Skittle and Brew. I liked the front cover. I highly recommend this book because it’s set on an island made of rubbish and this is really interesting.

This was my favourite book that I read this summer probably. I liked the sound of the bright sea festival and the way it was written was really imaginative.

this story made me laugh!

I thought it was a little bit silly because the illustrations of the characters were very silly. It’s fiction and I liked the character Pinch the dog. I would recommend it to my friends for a light and fun reading.

There was a girl called Skittles, a boy called Brew and a pet called Pinch. They were going to set up a sea-themed festival and everyone had to dress up as any type of sea creature. They had a problem which was Ethel B Dina was blown away with a giant balloon, so the Tindims and the others saved the day by telling her to sing about Dolphin and Turtle so she could be rescued her. My favourite part was when Ethel B Dina sang her songs because it was really calming.

I loved it. It was the best. I would recommend it to someone else because it is funny, hilarious and nice. My favourite character is the girl called Skittle because she is the one who solves the mystery. The dogs tail is so long that it can reach the top of the girls bunk bed and lift her down. The tindims are much more smaller than humans.

I liked how Ethel B Dina has a connection to the creatures of the sea.

It was really good. Ethel B Dina was the one I liked most - she can sing and she looks after animals and sings to them. I learnt you should always tidy up rubbish when it has been thrown away and recycle it. I would recommend it to other people because it was really good. I really liked the characters because Captain Spoons is funny.
