A beautifully illustrated picture book looking at the most incredible journeys undertaken by animals around the world. From the epic migration of the huge humpback whale to the unbelievable determination of the tiny hummingbird, each animal tells us the reason why they travel so very far.

I liked We Travelled So Far because it told you intresting information but I do wish it had some more of it. I loved finding out facts then pinpointing the distance of there migration on the map at the back of the book. all in all it was a great book.

I like when the caribbean spiny lobsters connect in a chain together and they that so when storms approach they are protected.i don't like the European eels because they are slippery and slimy and are very big and they swim in groups.

An information book about migration. Each double page spread looks at one animal and its journey. The text is short and almost lyrical but gives enough detail to place the animal in the world and explain why it migrates. The range of animals featured is very varied and includes some unusual creatures, and the illustrations, in muted colours, convey a sense of movement across the pages. There a map of the world so the reader can work out some of the journeys are made although they would need to know where the places are as it's not particularly detailed and the last page talks about people travelling to places for many reasons. This book would be a good starting point for exploring both the animals and places mentioned.
