An action-packed Anglo-Saxon tale of one boy's journey to the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The story of one Anglo-Saxon boy's journey to the Battle of Hastings in 1066: Key Stage 2 History brought to life as battle-packed adventure. 1065: Magnus is the son of Harold Godwinson, lord of the Southern Saxons and ruthlessly ambitious claimant to the throne of England. Overnight, Magnus finds himself cast centre-stage in the blood-soaked family feud that led to one of history’s most famous battles. This is the family tragedy behind 1066: live it with Magnus, as the wolves of history close in on his Anglo-Saxon boyhood.

l read Anglo Saxon Boy. l liked this book because the adventure you went on with the main character Magnus was really breath taking. My favourite character was Magnus because he was very brave going out to fight but caring for his mother and his father. I would rate this book 4 stars and recommend it for ages 10+ as it is really quite gory.

I really love history and this book was based on the fight for the throne in 1066AD. Some of the characters in the book were fictional and others were real. It is very action-packed and I found it a real page-turner!

This book is difficult to define as fiction or no-fiction. I loved how it is based on real history and in the point of view of an unexpected person that I had never heard of before yet existed: Magnus.

Lots of action from the start that I can imagine my class being enthralled by. A young lead character to identify with and themes of family and courage. Fits very well with Anglo-Saxon and Vikings topic. Would recommend.

It is a book about The Battle of Hastings and other huge and minor wars from that period of time. The book is told mainly around King Harold's third son Magnus.
