When Jayni, her mum and little brother have to run away from her abusive father, it starts off as a big adventure. They slip out at night, go up to London by train and stay in a hotel. Jayni becomes the glamorous-sounding Lola Rose. But when the money runs out and reality bites, is it still a game they should play?

This book is about Jayni who has to run away from her Dad with her Mum and her brother. They all have to change their names so that Dad doesn't find them. Then Mum goes into hospital so Lola Rose has to be very grown up.

My favourite character was Auntie Barbra because she was really nice and understanding to Lola Rose and came to help as soon as Lola had finished. Also she stuck up for them when their dad went to hit the mum. I would recommend this book for older readers because the content may be to old for younger readers to understand.

Lola Rose is a fiction book. Jayni (the main character), her mum, her nasty dad and Kenny her brother all live together in a flat. One day Jayni, her brother and mum come out with a scratch card from the newsagents that her mum bought. They find out that they won the lottery and they won £10,000. They are all happy. Her mum buys lots and lots of goodies for her kids. They decide not to tell dad that mum won the lottery otherwise her dad will steal the money and spend it on alcohol or fags. They return to the flat and then her dad comes home in a good mood. Her dad got a new job and all he needed was a car. Suddenly pricks of sweat came down Jayni's ear. That was it. Her mum would say that she won the lottery and that her dad could have the money to buy a car. Bam. 10,000 pounds gone. Or not...

It was about a girl named Jayni Fenton, her mother, Nikki Fenton, and her little brother, Kenny Fenton. Life at home got hard for the trio, so they ran away to London. Nikki changes her name to Victoria Luck, Kenny swops to Kendall, and Jayni becomes Lola Rose. Then Mum goes into hospital. It was a very good book, but I’m not spoiling it. Hint; Their dad, Jay Fenton comes to London and finds them, but luckily, Aunty Barbara saves the day!

I think this is a really good book and I would recommend it to someone that like books with love, tragedy and a book that will want you to read more of it. My favourite character is Auntie Barbara because she is there for Lola Rose and Kendall.

This book is about a girl, called Jayni, and her little brother, Kenny. When their dad’s temper gets out of control, Jayni, Kenny, and their childish mum, set foot out of the house. The trio change their names, to protect their identity. Mum becomes Victoria Luck, Kenny becomes Kendall, and finally, Jayni becomes Lola Rose. When her mum finds a job in a pub, everything seems to be glueing together for once, but the pieces shatter once again, when Victoria gets cancer. When their Aunt Barbara comes to look after them, they feel as if some parts of the shattered glass is co-operating. How with the group find a new home, and get used to the new?

It is fiction but it this could happen in real-life. My favourite characters are Lola Rose and Auntie Barbara. I don’t have a reason they are just my favourites.

Lola Rose (also known as Jayni) was my favourite character. I would definitely recommend it to anybody who is a fan of Jacqueline Wilson.
